Part Number KEH2

This is the Keene hookah harness relied on by hookah divers for decades. The main part of the harness is a plate designed to be affixed in the middle of the divers back. The round plate has a hookah air line to hookah regulator adapter attached. The hookah hose attaches on the bottom and the regulator on the top. The harness itself is a heavy nylon webbing belt with over the shoulder strap to hold the plate firmly in place. The belt uses a standard dive belt quick release buckle. There is a large D-ring on the shoulder strap to route the regulator up and to the front near the divers face. That way is you drop the regulator it will not fall behind your back out of reach.

A regulator should not be used for Hookah diving unless it is in conjunction with a hookah harness. The harness serves two principle functions. It keeps the air hose from getting in the diver’s way when he is working underwater. The harness has a “back plate” which is automatically positioned over the center of the diver’s back when the harness is properly attached. Since the air hose terminates at the diver’s back it helps prevent the occurrence of potential entanglements around the diver’s body. More importantly the regulator intake hose that attaches to the back plate adapter prevents any pulling motion on the regulator while working underwater. For example, if a diver is moving around underwater and inadvertently comes to the end of the air hose, the harness will absorb the shock and the regulator will not be jerked from the diver’s mouth or full face mask.
